Volunteer Now

WHERE / WHEN

Ballymena, Belfast, Derry/L'derry, and Newry / 8.30am (Breakfast) / 10am-1pm (Volunteering Session)

Volunteering Action Day is aimed at people aged 50 and over to encourage them to take up the challenge of volunteering for a morning in their local community. A day like this can challenge the stereotypes that older people are passive recipients of services, whilst at the same time providing recognition for the impact that can be made by older volunteers in their communities through one day of action. Individuals aged 50+ are invited to take part, alone or as a group of friends. Employers are invited to facilitate the participation of their employees aged over 50 and groups, clubs and forums are being challenged to volunteer together.
